PDS™ Antibacterial Violet Monofilament (Polydioxanone) Absorbable Surgical Suture, Size 6-0, 30", RB-1 D/APDS™ is a monofilament absorbable surgical suture made from polydioxanone, designed for extended wound support with minimal tissue reactivity. Its monofilament structure ensures low tissue drag, allowing smooth passage through tissue while reducing the risk of bacterial harboring.

This variant is equipped with an RB-1 (reverse cutting) needle, double-armed (D/A), and 30 inches in length. The RB-1 needle is commonly used for delicate soft tissue approximation, including subcuticular closures. The precision reverse cutting tip enhances penetration while minimizing trauma, making it well-suited for dermatologic, plastic, and pediatric surgical applications.

The antibacterial feature is achieved through triclosan coating, which helps inhibit colonization of the suture by bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis. This added protection is beneficial in procedures with a higher risk of infection or in immunocompromised patients.
